John A. Heilig

John A. Heilig was born December 30, 1945 in Norfolk, Virginia, educated at Hampden-Sydney College and was graduated in 1968 having earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. John Heilig then served his country as a First Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps. He received various military medals including the Bronze Star, Combat “V” for valor, Combat Action Ribbon, and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry.

After his service as a Marine, he enrolled in postgraduate education attending T.C. Williams School of Law at The University of Richmond in Richmond, Virginia. After completing his law degree in 1974, he was licensed to practice in Virginia. In 1988 he also acquired licensure for the state of North Carolina.

John Heilig is a member of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association as well as the Virginia Association of Defense Attorneys. For the past 29 years John A. Heilig has maintained a trial practice specializing in the areas of professional negligence, medical malpractice, and personal injury cases in Virginia and North Carolina.
